Checking a TRADePASS

Someone has just shown you their pass. Here's what you're looking at, and how to use it.

What it is

A tradie's own record of their licences, tickets and insurance, and the work they've logged, shown from the TRADePASS app on their phone. You don't need an account or an app to see it: the QR code opens it in your phone's browser.

The line at the top

Expiry dates are worked out at the moment you open the pass:

  • All current: nothing on it has run out.
  • Due for renewal soon: something runs out within 90 days.
  • Expired: something has run out, and it's named.
  • Nothing expired, some without an expiry date: the tradie hasn't entered a date for some items, so they aren't counted as current.

Each line below carries its own expiry, or says none was given.

Who entered it

The tradie enters their details and keeps them up to date. TRADePASS confirms their member number. A tradie who has been assessed by Trident Trade Profiles shows “Assessed by Trident Trade Profiles” at the foot of their pass; otherwise it says they haven't been assessed yet.

For your site register

Every licence and ticket on the pass has its own QR for this. It opens a ticket check for that one ticket, with the holder, the number, the expiry and the time it was checked. Print it or save it as a PDF for the induction file.

The tradie can also show you a site pack: one QR for just the tickets your site asks for.

What you see, and what's recorded

You see what the tradie has chosen to share. Their jobs show the type of work, never the job's name, builder or address. When you open a pass, the tradie can see the time it was opened and who they showed it to. Nothing about you is recorded.
